Simple emotions and the small pleasures taken from life,
such as sitting in the sun, or the
feel of sand on bare feet are the
inspiration for my dolls. My
sculpture draws upon traditional art
and ornamentation as well as the
rich colors and textures found in
nature. My dolls almost always begin
with the same ingredients: a vision,
a few concept sketches, a raw lump
of clay and a pile of fabric
remnants and found objects, but no
two are ever created alike.
Curiosity is my most useful tool,
and each creation is an experiment.
