I stole Barbie's Shoes
Sunday, May 10, 2009 at 09:10PM I am starting on a new project...I have seven pairs of green 10mm glass eyes...so I am designing seven dolls to house them. I am going to venture a bit into ball-jointing territory, so wish me luck ;]. Right now things are mostly in R&D mode--I like having maps and lists to follow when I am creating.

I needed some shoe accessories for one of the dolls (for her headdress). I had some cheap pink plastic Barbie shoes and I coated them with white tissue paper smothered in gel medium. I then painted the dried tissue with titan buff acrylic paint. I still have some work left to do before these shoes are complete, but I thought they looked neat, so I took a picture. They kinda look like Barbie stepped in pale swamp mud. ;p
This last week, a friend and I went to Borders book store and browsed around till the store closed. I didn't find any books, which is odd, but I did find a bunch of cute little things. My favorite is the water bottle. I always feel guilty about not drinking enough water, so I buy water bottles to use throughout the day. My plan seldom works though, because my fiance finds the bottle, fills it up, takes it to work and forgets it there. So, I have found the ultimate water bottle...he would never dare to be seen with this in public and I love it so much....win/win for me! :]

"They kinda look like Barbie stepped in pale swamp mud" LOL...love the vision.
These will make a great headress....you have such a wonderful imagination.
Very cool water bottle too!
Good luck on the bjds!
Thanks Sue :]. I guess they will be pseudo BJDs because only part will be ball jointed and the rest will be frozen. I am just not ready for an entirely wiggly doll.
Hey Jess! Love the shoes! And the vision of muddy footed Barbie is classic!
I can't wait to see your BJD!
And I can relate with the vanishing water bottles.. and hubbys. LOL
