Jacobean Doodles

Today I worked on a doll skirt for one of the 7 ladies I am making. I used a floral Jacobean wallpaper as inspiration and just free-hand doodled a bunch of flowers and vines onto ultra-suede with a black sharpie. I then went back over the flowers with light washes of acrylic paint. I still might do more painting on it. I am not sure yet. I took some pictures so I could scan them into photoshop and try out a few 'paint' looks. I would much rather experiment on the digital flowers ;p. If I like the look, I will paint it in real life.

I like to set up mini projects like this throughout the week so I can work for a few hours here and there before or after the day job. I do the bulk of my creating on the weekends.
In other news, I just woke up from a splendid nap :].

Jess, that is beautiful! For freehand work, I'm
really impressed. Looking forward to seeing the doll this is going on.
Amazing freehanding. It looks like a printout. You continue to amaze me.
