Chessies and Slightly Creepy Baby

This week flew by. I got a little bit of work done on some dolls--but mostly I focused on the day job and basking in the few rays of light we get here in WA state. Hopefully this weekend I will be able to get more done...we'll see :]. I've been doing some hand sewing for doll costumes here and there--hand sewing is always relaxing (as long as you don't poke yourself with a 2.5 inch beading needle when forcing it through ultrasuede).
We are preparing to adopt a dog--a Chesapeake Bay Retreiver--the new litter was born a few weeks ago, so when they are old enough, Alex and I will go and pick out a female--there were four females born and we have first pick, so that is exciting. The above picture is the girls at 3 weeks--little dollops of chocolate :]. The one on the top right is my favorite in this pic.
I played with a website for a little bit earlier. You run through a little flash menu to create your super-hero (you end up so many odd places when you click around...I don't remember what I was doing in the first place). The names they gave mine were sort of lame, but it was still fun to play with. I suppose the one-eyed thing is fitting with my gimp eye. I also ran into a comic strip earlier that made me laugh because it hit so close to home... My super-secret super power would be the ability to change the color of anything--the artistic possibilities would be endless and enemies beware ;].

Lastly, I leave you with this awesome baby I found in allibell's etsy shop.
I love it. She should sell prints of this photo. I might be the only one to buy one...but still. hmm. I think I need to buy this baby.
Yes, I bought it.

Ahhh, that is one sweet lil baby! I agree, prints of that photo would be nice, as I would buy one too =D
Adorable puppies! I wish I could have one, but with 5 dogs, 8 cats and 5 visiting Racoons, my husband will put his foot down for sure!!
Love the other little babies too!
I love all the puppies Jess and it would be a hard pick. It reminded me of when I got my CC. I bought her out of the paper from a litter but the guy lived in another state. I was young and wild back then and met this strange dude half way at a gas station on a deserted road at night alone to get that dog... NO WAY I would do that now! 11 years later and she is still my best friend so it all turned out good.
Good luck with your new 'baby'!
xoxo
Jess, I'm just about screaming here...those pups are TOOOOOOOO Cute!! Ah, I love puppies and it is so exciting getting a new little furbaby. Congrats to you and Alex.
hmmmm, going to go check out the creepy (but delightful) little baby shop. You are right, that pic you posted would make a dynamite print.
Hey, that baby is as cute as the puppies; but then, they're so ugly they're cute.
The baby looks like a pre-kewpie chalkware doll from the 20s or 30s. Is it old, or a repro?
I forgot about your "gimp" eye. That makes your work even more amazing.
Hi- from Everett WA! The sun has warmed my bones. The puppies are so cute. I have 2 Boston bull terriers-love dogs. The baby photo is really good. I love the doll-I love dolls.
Thanks for all the dog/baby comments! We are getting the new puppy this next Saturday (6/13/09). I am excited and a bit freaked out as we will be 'new parents' for the next several months.
The chalk ware baby came in the mail last week and she/he is wonderful. I can't wait to take some artsy photos with him/her--haven't decided the sex yet. I think it will be a boy.
Kim, maybe I will email the seller and tell her she should sell prints of baby.
Abi, that sounds like plenty of babies! Goodness.
Joanna, I know...we keep changing our minds about which ones are our favs and we will probably change them again when we see them in person. The 5 week pics are up now and they are all wonderful :].
Sue--thanks :]
Bobbie, I think it is officially old. hehe..whatever that means.
Hi Vicky! Thanks for stopping by. I love dolls too-hehe. And I guess I will very shortly love dogs ;].
a new puppy- aren't you lucky. When does it get to come home?Enjoy.
Paula, we pick her up in Kalama on Saturday. We've done most all our puppy shopping. I think we are as ready as we can be!
